(Strip Number 7213, Original Publication Date, 6 April 1986)
Panel 1: We start things off with Mike rooting around in the basement closet for something.
Panel 2: Said something is John's fishing gear.
Panel 3: The strip most people are actually going to see starts with him sitting at the bottom of the stairs casting a line.
Panel 4: He then starts to real something in.
Panel 5: Said something is Farley who's being attracted by a cartoon soup bone because everyone knows dogs love to chew on bones.
Panel 6: He continues to follow the slowly receding bait.
Panel 7: His biting into it just when he's around a corner from Mike puts an unsettling smile on the boy's face.
Panel 8: Mike yells GOTCHA!!!! and tackles a frightened Farley.
Panel 9: The dog growls at him as he wriggles loose.
Panel 10: As a pissed-off Farley saunters back to where he was before all this started, Mike thought-bubbles that he can't wait for summer to arrive.
Summary: He has something of an advantage over us. This is because summer will eventually arrive; treating Farley with respect and dignity never will. He lives a life of being mistreated by idiots and dies a needless death because Elly is too damned stupid and lazy to buy a proper lock for a gate. Also, since this strip is not the Easter strip, I think that we can look forward to having the strips in December rearranged for the Holidays.
