(Strip Number 4571, Original Publication Date, 26 February 1986)
Panel 1: Now that he and Lizzie have finally learned about Elly's having to work at the clinic for a little while, Mike wails about how the two of them have to go to Annie's house after school again.
Panel 2: Since Elly doesn't see his being with and treated like an infant by an idiot as being the problem it is, she tells him that it's just for a couple of weeks.
Panel 3: He tries to duck being sat by reminding her that since Annie lives next door, he can drop Lizzie off there and come home.
Panel 4: When Lizzie tells Mommy that's what he does anyway, Elly is gobsmacked.
Summary: We're about to see something very interesting in the immediate future. That very interesting that that we're going to see is that Mike's enthusiasm for being home alone evaporates because doing so makes Elly's life better. Up until now, having him rat around unsupervised was the means of nailing Elly to her cross but after next week, he becomes the short-sighted pain in the ass who whines about how horrible it is that she has to go places to live her life and embarrass him.
