Today's strip reminds us of one of the primary reasons Mike's grades aren't the best. Simply put, he thinks that having to discipline himself is some sort of cruel torture bad people who hate him impose on him.

(Strip Number 4567, Original Publication Date, 19 February 1986)

Panel 1: We find John reminding Mike that he's got a test tomorrow so shouldn't be downstairs reading a comic book like he is now.

Panel 2: When John tells him to go upstairs and hit the books, Mike slumps off as if he's about to be hanged.

Panel 3: He then stares at the Evil Textbooks Of Killing Happiness as if having to do what other people tell him to do is a terrible thing.

Panel 4: He then gets all rage-faced as he literally hits the books of making him miserable and lost and confused.

Summary: The accompanying notes are all about how this is how having to do things that don't appeal to her like she's some sort of ordinary person who has to do that make Special Snowflake Lynn feel.
