(Strip Number 4563, Original Publication Date, 12 February 1986)
Panel 1: John puts down the receiver of the ultra-modern rotary telephone and tells Elly that to his baffled delight that Jean (for reasons he will never understand) will go back to work.
Panel 2: The problem is that she can only come in half-days until she gets Brittany into daycare.
Panel 3: He then asks himself where it is that he can find a warm body that can come in half days for the next few weeks.
Panel 4: When he looks at her with a big, dopey grin on his face, she asks him why he's looking at her like that.
Summary: This is because he remembers that she's assisted him in the past and has sufficient free time to do so. What he doesn't remember is why Elly is reluctant to do so. This is because he's not the one who has to deal with his imperious manner and lack of visible gratitude.
