(Strip Number 1005, Original Publication Date, 10 January 1986)
Panel 1: As Marian takes another batch of cookies out of the oven, Elly asks her to stop baking because she is really gaining weight.
Panel 2: Marian tells her that her belief that she's gaining weight is nonsense.
Panel 3: Just then, Michael comes in with an envelope he says must be for Elly.
Panel 4: When he smirks like Les Moore because it says "bulk" on the front, Elly is not amused.
Summary: Eventually, she gets tired of his acting like a character on a sitcom and explodes in the same sort of rage his antics would inspire in me if I were the target of his simple-minded hatefulness and refusal to admit that other people's feelings matter simply because he can never feel them. As it stands now, we're still sort of living in a sitcom until September or so.
