(Strip Number 6031, Original Publication Date, 1 January 1986)
Panel 1: We find ourselves looking at Elly slumped down in her bed because ringing in the New Year has left her feeling wrung out. Having noticed that her limbs feel like they're made of lead, she asks herself why she does things like this to herself.
Panel 2: As she stumbles towards the bathroom, she thought-bubbles that she isn't sure that she can face the day.
Panel 3: She looks in the mirror and terrifies herself.
Panel 4: Traumatized Elly slumps back down into bed and thought-bubbles about how she can't face the day if she can't even face her face.
Summary: A forced joke about how Elly hates what she sees in the mirror. What a lovely way to lead in the new year.
