(Strip Number 6029, Original Publication Date, 30 December 1985)
Panel 1: Now that John and Elly have been shooed out of the room, Ted resumes his soap-operatic "Please take me back" speech by telling Connie that they can work this thing out. Instead of just waving her token that says she's taken under his nose and making him shriek like Gollum did when Frodo put elven-ropes on him, she tells him to forget it.
Panel 2: Since it's worked in the past, he tells her that he's ready for a commitment and ready to settle down; she tells him that it's too late for any of that.
Panel 3: After his latest "I've changed" thing, she tells him that she's fallen in love with someone else.
Panel 4: Since the usual means of convincing her that he's redeemable have failed, he tells her that he senses a certain negativity coming from her.
Summary: The one thing you had to give Liz is that when Unfrozen Caveman Helicopter Pilot didn't take the hint, she went right for the jugular.
