Annie tells Elly that since she's expecting a third child, the Pattersons might want to build a higher fence.

(Strip Number 4541, Original Publication Date, 3 December 1985)

Panel 1: Elly inquires after Annie's health because this is the second doctor's appointment she's driven her to.

Panel 2: Elly is mildly gobsmacked when Annie tells her that she can't keep being in the family way again a secret.

Panel 3: She then says that since she and John are such good neighbours, she and Steve wanted them to be the first to know.

Panel 4: She then makes a sarcastic remark about how they might want to build a higher fence that spooks the heck outta Elly.

Summary: This becomes not a problem at all in seven years time when she, Steve and the rest get written out of the strip. For now, though, Elly is really kind of scared.
