(Strip Number 6120, Original Publication Date, 24 November 1985)
Panel 1: We start things off with Elly taking a glass pitcher out of a steaming-hot dishwasher.
Panel 2: She then takes an ice-cold can of frozen juice concentrate out of it.
Panel 3: When frozen liquid meets steaming-hot glass, the pitcher cracks open.
Panel 4: To her horror, she lifts the pitcher up only to find that the bottom is still on the table.
Panel 5: She then goes into the living room and tells Mike and Lizzie that she's got something interesting to show them.
Panel 6: She then explains that she took frozen juice and put into a very hot pitcher she just took out of the dishwasher.
Panel 7: The result was that the bottom fell out of the pitcher and she got juice all over the table.
Panel 8: She then asks them what scientific principle has just been proven.
Panel 9: Mike irritates her by telling her that it was a dumb thing to do.
Panel 10: Lizzie tells him that that was probably not the answer she had in mind.
Summary: As I said, I should think that this one goes out to all the people who tell Lynn that Elly and John stupidly squander teachable moments and 'refutes' them by making Mike look like a sitcom horror freak child. Also, any idiot knows to let a pitcher cool down before putting something cold in it. What the Hell was Elly's rush?!
