Panel 1: Later that day, we find Elly telling Connie the not-really-unbelievable-given-the-person-a
Panel 2: She then recites the usual bullshit that people like that do to soften up resistance to interdomestic polecattery: he wants her to give him another chance because he cares about her, needs her and all the other things that don't stop filthy perverts like him from being philandering vermin.
Panel 3: Elly confirms that no, Connie isn't buying the bullshit Ted's selling.
Panel 4: Since Elly doesn't want Ted to succeed either, she tells John to put on the violins to accompany Ted's symphony in the key of doomed bullcrap.
Summary: Of course, the really fun part of all of this is watching a Patterson call someone on being a drama queen. Seeing someone as theatrical as Elly roll her eyes and laugh because someone is milking how much he hurts is the stuff that snark is made of.
