(Strip Number 4530, Original Publication Date, 7 November 1985)
Panel 1: After hockey practice, Elly tells Michael that he's leaning too far forward and that he's got to bend his knees, dig and and keep up to the puck.
Panel 2: She then states that he's gotta be sure to be aware of his immediate surroundings.
Panel 3: As he enters the change room, she tells him to push his blades into his turns with his head up.
Panel 4: Now that they're both in the change room, Darryl tells a harried-looking Mike that he sympathizes with him because his mother doesn't skate either.
Summary: I'm not sure if this is supposed to be "Elly doesn't actually know what she's talking about and is being a pain in the neck" or "Evil little boys can't wrap their chauvinistic brains around the idea of a woman knowing anything about sports." What I do know is that no matter what she knows about hockey, Elly doesn't like being a hockey mom because that porch isn't going to sweep itself and the Quality Women will burst down the door, behead her and stick her head on a pike in the front yard if she gets in the habit of cooking microwave dinners.
