(Strip Number 968, Original Publication Date, 28 October 1985)
Panel 1: We find ourselves at the school's gym; as the boys look at the decorations with an impressed look on their faces, Gordon says "BOY! Our first real dance!!"
Panel 2: He then asks Michael where his Mom is since he thought Elly was going to chaperone; Mike tries to explain an inconvenient truth but is cut off by some external force.
Panel 3: Said external force is Elly asking them if they're having fun. Since she's wearing an ugly and garish clown costume and doesn't realize how God-awful she looks, she doesn't know why her evil son is evilly rejecting her love by being embarrassed by and for her.
Summary: This gets a bookend at the end of the week when pea-brain Elly can't figure out why children weren't treating her with the respect they give her in regular life. The wind does not respect a fool and children laugh at the obviously insane because they do not yet know to fear or pity them.
