The other three boys in Mike's social circle reveal how little his feelings matter to them by 'volunteering' him to be the monster because he doesn't like having his neat mom chaperoning.

(Strip Number 965, Original Publication Date, 24 October 1985)

Panel 1: As our story continues, we find Mike and his friends trying to decide on a theme. We pick up the story when Brian finally hits on the idea of having the four of them going to the party as mad scientists. The other three boys like the idea.

Panel 2: Gordon sets up the conflict by saying that it might be too much if all four of them were to be dressed the same.

Panel 3: Darryl furthers things along by saying that one of them should be the experiment and suggests a monster or something.

Panel 4: Having noticed that the other three boys are smiling at him, Michael asks them why they're all looking at him.

Summary: The reason that they're looking at him is because Aaron rejected all the love in Lynn's great big heart by selfishly and cruelly thinking for himself instead of letting her lovingly, firmly and fairly do all the thinking for him.
