Today's strip is as close to a Thanksgiving strip as Lynn ever dared create; this is because it features Lizzie drawing a pumpkin for class and getting really weird about it.

(Strip Number 4523, Original Publication Date, 14 October 1985)

Panel 1: As a determined Lizzie colours a page of loose-leaf, Elly asks her what she's making.

Panel 2: Lizzie tells her that ev'rybody gotsa make a harvest pitcher for kinnergarten so she's doin'a punkin.

Panel 3: Elly tells Lizzie that she's coloured the whole page orange.

Panel 4: When Lizzie explains that it's a closeup, Elly is speechless.

Summary: For someone who thinks that women instantly understand kids the second after they give birth, Elly sure is a great rebuttal of that theory. Little kid logic always seems to baffle and horrify her...thereby disproving the maternal instinct theory that John and Anthony based their marriages on.
