We end the week with an installment of the annoying revenge fantasy Ted witlessly blundered into that serves as a reminder of why Connie wants to punish him: he's an unappreciative clod who blames her for his own crippling deficiency as a man.

(Strip Number 4522, Original Publication Date, 12 October 1985)

Panel 1: We shift focus from the Pattermanse to John's dental clinic. As he finished up with a patient, Helène tells him that Ted wants to meet him for lunch.

Panel 2: A few minutes later, we find ourselves at the medical building's cafeteria watching a distraught Ted tell John that ever since Connie made the baffling decision to move, he's been in agony. He then asks why she did something that cruel to him.

Panel 3: John reminds the imbecile that he tossed her to the curb like a gum wrapper, publicly humiliated her in front of what felt like the whole world, broke her heart and called her any number of horrible things.

Panel 4: Since nothing is ever Ted's fault (read his bio for proof), he dismissively refers to his atrocities as "kidding" and wonders why Connie has no sense of humor.

Summary: This is why John loves to twist the knife in and also why he pals around with Ted: he's someone you love to hate. Also, as bad as he is, next to Ted, he looks freaking marvelous.
