Today's strip reminds us why allowing Mike to decide things is wrong by depicting him and his friends as having all the imagination of a head of cabbage. Best to let someone who is blessed with the fortune of being able to commune with the muses to decide things.
(Strip Number 955, Original Publication Date, 5 October 1985)
Panel 1: We find Darryl, Mike, Brian and Gordo sitting around asking one other what they are going to be dressed as for Halloween. Since they don't want to accidentally dress alike, each boy asks the other three what they plan on wearing; this results in a sort of stalemate.
Panel 2: Gordo does what Lawrence must have done last year and suggests that they choose a common theme.
Panel 3: The other three boys think that to be a delightful plan that must be implemented.
Panel 4: The problem is that their television-stunted imaginations prevent them from thinking of a common theme thereby resulting in an echo of the circular argument we started out with.
Summary: This, I should think, is a dig at Aaron for not letting Mommy decide what he's gonna be for Halloween because, as a kid, he dunno what's good for him.
