(Strip Number 949, Original Publication Date, 28 September 1985)
Panel 1: We find Mike putting stuff in a locker and complaining about how he never knew his first year of being in fifth grade (he goes twice because Lynn can't really keep track of her kids' ages) was gonna be so tough.
Panel 2: That's 'cause he's gotta do a science project on toppa th'extra homework an'exams he gotta do.
Panel 3: As he sits down to lunch, he sure hopes nothin'else comes along t'complicate his life.
Panel 4: As if on cue, Deanna materializes out of the ether saying his name in a romantic-sounding tone.
Summary: This is the set-up for a pointless tiff as Deanna refuses to get it through her thick skull that Mike can't act the way she wants when he's trying to survive being around the guys. It balances, though. Mike can't get it through his thick skull that bleating about how the opinion of other scruffy little imbecile boys ain't gonna cut any ice with the Deannas of the world. Five bucks says that she still doesn't understand what really went on back then.
