Panel 2: Possibly Liz and Vivian are sitting at the circularly oval table we saw yesterday, but if they are, the table has gotten very long and I can no longer see the ends of it on either side. Maybe they added a table leaf or 10 to it. Vivian’s head appears to be smaller than Liz’s, which is a little odd since Vivian is sitting closer in our perspective on the room. Either Vivian has had the left side of her head shaved, or she has lost an ear and possibly an eye since yesterday. However to make up for the head problems, it has been placed on the body of a CFL linebacker. It is good to know that the transfer of Constable Paul Wright and in fact the good constable himself have not been retconned away.
Panel 3: Liz’s eyelash sticks out, but there is no eye to go with it. I guess it is more important to have good lashes than eyes. I see Vivian is using one of those invisible handle coffee cups that John Patterson likes to use. The difference with hers is that there appears to be a chunk taken off of the top right side of the cup. (Note: In surprising consistency, the cup appears the same way in Panel 5.) Don’t throw away those cups until they are completely broken, I say. I need anything to distract me from Liz’s final words in this strip, which indicate the degree to which the woman is completely self-absorbed. Just to let you know, officers of the Ontario Provincial Police cannot just transfer around however they want, particularly when they’ve agreed to serve in a detachment in the sparsely populated Northwest. It is so difficult to get constables in the Northwest, they are required to serve a certain number of years in those detachments. I don’t expect Lynn to know this (unless she bothered to research it for accuracy or some such nonsense as that), but if Lynn has, then this statement by Liz shows just how uninterested she is in Paul’s concerns.
Panel 4: Woah! That has got to be the most straightforward statement I have read in this strip in months. Too bad I am completely distracted by the little dot on Vivian’s forehead between her eyebrows. It showed up yesterday, and I thought it was a fluke, but she has it in Panels 3 and 4 today. Is it a tiny bindi, or just a pimple? If that wasn’t bad enough, Vivian has major neck wrinkles going on.
Panel 5: Ouch! Good thing that’s a thought bubble Vivian. Wow! What a slam on Liz. I am dumbstruck. Well not so dumbstruck, I can’t point out that the proportions between the black and gray items on the cabinet in Panel 3 are different in this panel. Liz hangs her head in shame, or she is feeling a disturbance in the Force. This is possible since I can’t remember how long it has been since a Patterson has been criticized in this strip by someone other than another Patterson. Well, at least someone in the strip is concerned about Paul Wright. Too bad it's not Liz.
