Today's strip has Mike wonder how long it'll be before the pain of Lawrence's (temporary) departure will last. It should be noted that this is the one in which Lynn speculates that it could possibly be that children feel more strongly about moving than adults do.

(Strip Number 925, Original Publication Date, 24 August 1985)

Panel 1: We find ourselves watching Elly sewing when Michael asks if Lawrence is gone. Elly tells him that he and his mom left that morning.

Panel 2: It turns out that telling him this is unnecessary because he just went and looked at their empty house.

Panel 3: As he hugs her in an attempt to get some comfort, he asks her something and she asks what that something is.

Panel 4: What he asks her is how long he will feel empty himself.

Summary: In terms of the strip itself, it's sort of hard to know because Elly's too worried about the same question. That being said, the really interesting thing is the Lynnsight in which she yet again assumes that children bottle up deep hurt until they have an adult to make feel guilty for doing what's in everyone's best interests.
