Panel 2: Gerald is getting a good look at April’s butt as she leans over to talk to her pop, and it looks like he likes what he sees. Poor John is so sullen, he has forgotten how to grasp a coffee cup. The band is going over to Gerald’s to play, so despite the fact that April's Letter, May 2006 said:
Hey everyone! I have to write this letter pretty fast - I've got band practice in about half an hour. Tonight the band is coming over here - since Mom cleaned out the basement we have a lot more room to move down there.
It appears that the strip continuity of practicing at Gerald’s prevails.
Panel 3: April’s right hand has its thumb reversed and John is down to 3 fingers. I think John is supposed to be grasping a coffee cup handle. I would tell the artist that it’s one thing to make eyes invisible, but you really do need to draw the handle for the effect of holding a coffee cup to work. April is being very nice to her dad, considering his actions from yesterday. Hey, April! I think you forgot, you’re supposed to be a surly creature!
Panel 4: The artist for April can’t quite figure out where to attach her right shoulder. Hint: Draw a parallel line from the top of the other shoulder. A brief moment of parental authority sparks in John as…
Panel 5: April either lays out a majour slam that Luis’ dad is more responsible than John is, or, in light of her kind words in Panel 3, she still considers her father someone who will keep her safe.
And now for a song:
Luis Luis, oh no
Me gotta go
Aye-yi-yi-yi, I said
Luis Luis, oh baby
Me gotta go
Fine keyboardist waits for me
Catch a car to practice, see
Sail that band about, not all alone
Drive safe with his dad, so I’ll make it home
Three guys and 2 girls are leaving me
Think of girl, constantly
On that car, I dream she's there
I smell the choko chips in her hair.
Okay, let's give it to 'em, right now!
April: GUITAR SOLO
See ya making, bad mood above
Don’t beat yourself up, you see me love
Take speeding ticket in my arms again
Tell him he'll never speed again
Let's take it on outa here now
