Panel 1: It's the morning after the potluck barbecue; since Lawrence and Mike seem to be taking their sweet time coming down for breakfast, Elly kindly, lovingly, firmly and fairly bellows "Okay, animals! If you're not down for breakfast in ten minutes, you'll have to wait until lunch."
Panel 2: After the ten minutes have passed, she comes into the room, notices that they look concerned about something and asks what's going on. Mike tells her that what's going on is Lawrence is MOVING!!
Panel 3: A teary-eyed Lawrence backs Mike up by saying that he'd called home only to get a recording from the realtor. Since Mike doesn't realize that Connie wasn't going to tell Lawrence until the moving vans came because she didn't want him to be upset all that time, he accuses his friend of keeping secrets.
Panel 4: Dumb-ass Elly tries to console the two of them and thought-bubbles that sometimes, her arms just aren't big enough.
Summary: Elly's difficulty is hinted at in today's Lynnsight; that's because Lynn talks about how it sometimes occurs to her that just possibly children are more traumatized by moving than WE MOMS can anticipate. Since the underlying pretext is that they'll get over it because children are resilient, WE MOMS simply have to wait out their failure to know what's good for
