Today's strip has John comment on how his children really need to watch what they're doing only to prove his point by not doing so.

(Strip Number 6686, Original Publication Date, 4 August 1985)

Panel 1: We start things off with John telling Mike and Lawremcee not to run on the cement walkway in the back yard because they could hurt themselves.

Panel 2: He then tells Mike, Lizzie and Lawrence not to hit one another with sticks because that's dangerous.

Panel 3: Next, he tells Mike not to whip that hose around because he could give someone a concussion.

Panel 4: This is followed by his asking Mike if he wants to drown Lawrence pushing his head into the kiddie pool like that.

Panel 5: Next, he tells his death-seeking children to not screw around with the lawn mower.

Panel 6: As he sits down in his lawn chair, he muses about how he has to keep on constant guard owing to the dangers the kids face in the summer.

Panel 7: When he sits down, it snaps on his rump.

Summary: Given that Lynn thinks that child-proofing her home is a waste of time that allows children to defeat their parents by making them do something unnecessary, the point she makes is that John should have looked out for himself because the kids would come to no harm because Lynn survived being a heedless, Godless imbecile.
