In today's strip, Elly is allowed to be mildly hypocritical when she denies her love of and fascination with supermarket tabloids.

(Strip Number 7192, Original Publication Date, 28 July 1985)

Panel 1: We find Connie and Elly waiting at the check-out line at Megafoods. Elly asks Connie why the line they're in is always the slowest.

Panel 2: Connie says that it's because they're in the express line.

Panel 3: While she's waiting, Elly picks up a tabloid to pass the time. The articles include such gems as "Octogenarian gives birth to triplets", "Killer budgie terrorizes town", "finding a mate through breath analysis"....

Panel 4: "Is your baldness caused by cosmic forces", "My mother stole my baby", "the incredible prunes and bran buds diet"...

Panel 5: "Actress weds voodoo priest", "Fortrel allergy drives designer berserk", "shrunken head helps widow win lottery"....

Panel 6: As she's skimming over articles such as "You too can perform miracles", "Are aliens responsible for warts" and "potent love charms can be had...", Elly is shocked out of her reverie when Connie calls her name.

Panel 7: She's still a bit out of it when Connie reminds her that it's her turn at the counter.

Panel 8: When Elly puts her stuff in the cart, Connie asks her if she's going to buy the tabloid.

Panel 9: Elly asks her if she's joking because she never reads those things.

Summary: The Lynnsight is going to be all about Lynn's fascination with a long-out of print tabloid and the wacky headlines therein.
