Today's strip has Elly confidently predict that Connie's being there solo isn't going to be a problem.

(Strip Number 896, Original Publication Date, 22 July 1985)

Panel 1: Seconds after having to caution John not to say anything about Connie, Elly tells him that she had no idea that she'd come there without Ted.

Panel 2: After all, she had no idea that they'd just broken up again.

Panel 3: She then tells him not to worry because Phil and Georgia are too well established to let anything come between them.

Panel 4: We then watch as Connie is physically between Phil and Georgia.

Summary: Subtlety was never Lynn's strong suit, was it? Always and ever, she went right for the old 'mallet over the head' stuff.
