Lizzie doesn't like the idea of hitting a badminton birdie.

(Strip Number 888, Original Publication Date, 10 July 1985)

Panel 1: We start things off with Lizzie not doing well playing badminton; this is because she's swinging the racket down at the birdie.

Panel 2: Mike comes over and tells her to hold the racket the way he does and to watch the birdie.

Panel 3: As she lets it drop on the ground, Mike asks her WHY she didn't hit the birdie.

Panel 4: Lizzie tells him that she wants him to call it somefin'else.

Summary: Well, it's not much of a surprise that she's not willing to think about hitting anything called a 'birdie'; good thing no one wants her to use the word shuttlecock.
