We end the week with a reminder of WHY Richard is an evil monster who hates the Pattersons: he's a two year old child with shy bladder syndrome who doesn't understand the immediate consequences of his terrified refusal to use a strange potty.

(Strip Number 864, Original Publication Date, 8 June 1985)

Panel 1: It would appear that Richard's not being house-broken has presented a problem. This is because Mike has had to dig out a potty from the crawl space to hand to an anxious Elly.

Panel 2: He then tells her that it was a good idea that they hung onto the old baby stuff because it comes in handy.

Panel 3: When Elly tries to get Richard to use it, he yells "NO WANNA!!!!!"

Panel 4: Christopher tells a horror-struck Elly that his mom forgot to tell her that Richard will only use his own potty (which Lynn 'amusingly' calls The One And Only Potty) from home.

Summary: Well, this is something that's fairly commonplace. Not only do we have a small child doing something some small children do, we have Annie making a good-faith oversight or two. Too bad that the Pattersons can handle neither thing with any grace....as next week's mess will prove.
