Panel 1: Later that day, Brad 'unintentionally' shoves Mike aside and gives him the same sort of insincere apology Mike likes to dish out.
Panel 2: Mike's response to having to take the crap he dishes out to Liz is to feebly screech about what a rat Brad is.
Panel 3: Since Mike has all the self-awareness of a cinder block, he says much the same thing about Brad that Lizzie ends up saying about the ugly brother who's the son shining in her eyes when he tells Lawrence that he can't think of a single good thing about Brad. Lawrence says that HE can.
Panel 4: He then baffles the Future Delicate Genius by reminding him that jerks like Brad make the two of them look great.
Summary: What Mike never managed to figure out is that Brad probably says the same sort of stupid self-justifying bullshit about him that he does about his sistwirp who just has to break wind to get attention he craves more than life itself.
