We end the month with yet more of Aaron being berated for being lazy and ungrateful and selfish and never, ever being a GOOD son and paying his poor mother money for her letting him live in HER house and so on and so forth. Today, he's evil because he isn't physically strong enough or tall enough to wash a car and clean out a garage.

(Strip Number 4495, Original Publication Date, 1 May 1985)

Panel 1: Now that we're at home, we find Mike telling John that Mom said that he had some chores for him to do so he could earn some extra cash. John proposes sweeping out the garage and vacuuming out the family car.

Panel 2: Since Mike doesn't know where the Hell anything actually is, he irritates the Hell out of his imbecile dad by asking where the extension cord is, what broom John wants him to use and where they keep the attachments to the vacuum cleaner.

Panel 3: As John lugs in the stuff like an idiot because he's too stupid to just TELL Mike, he stares daggers at the boy because he asks how much he'll be paid for doing all of this work.

Summary: It's like I keep saying....John and Elly are LOOKING for reasons to be angry with their children. If they can't find a real one, they'll create one by turning good-faith ignorance into a deliberate attempt to make them do all the work. You and I know that Mike had no idea where stuff was and that John could have simply told him instead of taking over but the Patterswine DON'T.
