Today's strip has Elly befriend the woman who commented on how nearsighted the old guy wasn't.

(Strip Number 822, Original Publication Date, 25 March 1985)

Panel 1: Seconds after her brush with Canadian Hans Moleman, the woman who might as well have a Dick Tracyesque caption with the word 'librarian' in it pointing at her introduces herself to Elly as Claire Stanton.

Panel 2: After they trade names, the two of them comment on the fact that neither of them know anyone else at the Puppets With A Purpose workshop.

Panel 3: Upon finding out that she's also going to Salon B, Elly asks Claire if maybe they should sit together.

Panel 4: Having made a new acquaintance, Elly muses that she's the sort of person who needs people.

Summary: Well, this is one of the rare bright spots in the arc. What we have is Elly reminding herself that awkwardness goes away when it's shared.
