In today's strip, Elly sleeps in and gets verbal abuse as part of her complete breakfast.
(Strip Number 4483, Original Publication Date, 22 March 1985)
Panel 1: As our story continues, Elly is startled awake by a knock at the door. When she asks who it is, the man announced that he's from room service.
Panel 2: Horrified Elly looks at the alarm clock that didn't go off and screams about how it's way late in the morning.
Panel 3: Elly stands at the door and asks the man to please bring the tray back later because she isn't dressed and looks awful.
Panel 4: When Fun-boy tells her that he's used to women looking not at their best because he's married, Elly scowls.
Summary: Just this once, I can get behind the rage-face. I mean, it's bad enough John does it but to have every random jerk on the face of the Earth compare Elly to the Cryptkeeper is simply beyond the pale!!! Sure, the dorkwad would say that he don't mean it because he's just saying something to break the tension but "just saying" isn't a justification for just saying any random hurtful thing you happen to feel like sharing. Ah, well. At least she's justified in stiffing THIS imbecile on the tip.
