(Strip Number 4482, Original Publication Date, 20 March 1985)
Panel 1: Having put her luggage away, Elly decides to phone home. She tells John that she's made it to room 1224.
Panel 2: She boasts about the wonderful trip, wonderful hotel room and how wonderful the idea was.
Panel 3: She then asks how things are at home.
Panel 4: Given that we've got a pot of food overflowing with the excess dripping onto the element and burning, crap all over the place and Mike screaming at Lizzie for using the dog as a dishwasher, John's comment on how wonderful things are is meant to be ironic.
Summary: Sadly, this message of how John is simply making work for Elly is blunted by the fact that the house looks the same when she's in charge.
