(Strip Number 808, Original Publication Date, 21 February 1985)
Panel 1: Having noticed that John isn't feeling well, Elly asks if he's had a tough day at the office.
Panel 2: Given that Jean is quitting, his hygienist is sick, he tried putting in a bridge that was the wrong size and the city shut off the water for most of the day and his foot is throbbing like mad from exposure to the late February air, I'd say "hard day" is kinda on the button.
Panel 3: We switch perspectives when Mike cautions Lizzie not to go into the kitchen until Daddy is feeling better. Lizzie asks how long she'll hafta wait to talk to Daddy.
Panel 4: Mike says to wait until John's eyes stop buggin'out.
Summary: This is yet another reminder that John thinks that he's too damned big and important to suffer any sort of inconvenience. I blame his mother for indulging him his every whim owing to his reminding me of someone else weak, soft, ungrateful, mean-spirited and entitled: Ray Barone.
