In today's strip, John tells the doctor who's removing his cast that they're still eating the turkey he dropped on his foot.

Panel 1: We find John at the Outpatients having his cast removed. As he removes the cast, the attending physician says "Now, you say you dropped a large weight on this foot?"
Panel 2: An embarrassed John admits that he dropped that comically huge frozen turkey on his foot months ago.
Panel 3: The doctor sympathetically states that that would be an incident that someone would like to forget.
Panel 4: John astonishes the doctor when he says that he cannot do so as the family is still eating it.
Summary: This, as I said two months ago, is something of an absurdity. By now, the blasted thing is pretty much inedible and wouldn't have lasted past New Years' in the first place. Then again, it would seem that things are pretty much out of order owing to tomorrow's revelation that this is six weeks after mid-December so that little quibble is less relevant than it might otherwise be.
