We end the week with Elly forgiving Annie for being late because WE MOMS understand what it's like to want to escape from the hellions that WE MOMS have to have to be real women.

(Strip Number 4472, Original Publication Date, 9 February 1985)

Panel 1: Having returned from the doctor, Annie apologizes to Elly for taking so long.

Panel 2: She then says "Since you had the baby, I, uh, did some shopping. You know how it is."

Panel 3: As the Nicholses leave, John asks Elly if dealing with being ambushed hasn't left her just a little angry at Anne. To his surprise, she isn't.

Panel 4: After all, she knows how it is to be a mother burdened with a howling infant who hates the idea that his or her mother wants a life of her own.

Summary: Sadly, we never really move past this belief Lynn has that a toddler not only has an agenda, that agenda has to be to destroy her mother's happiness because she's a self-centered freeloader who should be grateful she's not a refugee in a war zone. We also never most past this idea that Annie is a weakling because she treats her children as people instead of movie monsters.
