in today's strip, the animal control officer tells Elly how much it'll take to spring Farley.

(Strip Number 784, Original Publication Date, 15 January 1985)

Panel 1: We start things off with Tim from Animal Control on the phone telling the woman on the other end of the line that yes, they just might have her dog.

Panel 2: He then confirms that said dog is the large, shaggy creature with the dozy expression we see in the cage next to him and being intrigued that he's named 'Farley'.

Panel 3: He then says that sure, she can come right on down to the shelter to pick him up.

Panel 4: He concludes by stating that bail is twenty bucks.

Summary: Since Elly is stupid, she's probably standing around screaming about how unfair it is that she has to pay any sort of price for being a stupid idiot pet owner. That being said, Lynn's behaving as if we're dealing with the police tells me that she's never dealt with Animal Control in her life.
