We start the "Farley gets picked up by Animal Control" arc with Elly getting pissed at John for being able to stay warm.

(Strip Number 781, Original Publication Date, 10 January 1985)

Panel 1: We start things off with John standing at the front door yelling for that damn dog Farley to come in out of the snowstorm that's raging.

Panel 2: He then discovers to his displeasure that some idiot (whose initials are John Roderick Patterson) has left the gate open and allowed Farley to roam around loose.

Panel 3: Since he's going to be on crutches for another month or so, he tells a downcast Elly that she's gotta chase the dog down.

Panel 4: As he sits by a warm, cozy fireplace, he tells a disbelieving Elly that he would have loved to go out.

Summary: I don't believe him any more than Elly does....this is because he's being a complete shit about it all. Also, I think that the imbecile he's yelling about is him.
