Off-topic: The currency of tomorrow....today!!!

Remember last February when I told you that the Feds finally phased out the one-cent coin? What I forgot to tell you in the header is what they've phased in and what you in the States will eventually have to contend with: polymer banknotes. This is because the federal government observed how durable they are as compared to the older notes and how much less expensive it is over the long run to follow the path the Aussies laid out for her sister Commonwealth realms. While it does make sense for them to want to do things as efficiently and securely as possible with my tax dollars, I do notice that there's a bit of an issue with them: they have a slippery sort of texture that takes some getting used to. This tells me that if the strip were still a going concern, Lynn would make a lead-footed point about evil, conflict-causing Australians making it harder for her to figure out how much allowance her new Mommy is paying her.
