We start the Pattterson Christmas proper with a bog-standard "Everyone is really a kid on Christmas Eve" strip.

(Strip Number 772, Original Publication Date, 24 December 1984)

Panel 1: It's Christmas Eve Night at the Pattermanse. As John and Elly get ready to go to bed, he says it's amazing that Mike and Lizzie are already asleep.

Panel 2: He then says that when he was a child, he was far too excited thinking about Santa to ever bother actually sleeping.

Panel 3: Elly tells him that it was the same with her before they bid one another good night.

Panel 4: A few minutes later, they're both thought-bubbling that they still can't sleep.

Summary: I should think that Lynn would lay a "I'm sixty-five and I still feel like a kid" thing on us today.
