We begin the Christmas arc with the obligatory "Children are too damned greedy and selfish these days" strip.

(Strip Number 756, Original Publication Date, 3 December 1984)

Panel 1: We find ourselves watching a delighted Michael looking at the toys section of the Sears Christmas Wish Book. As expected, he babbles about how he wants this, that and the other thing.

Panel 2: Elly comes in and reminds him that Christmas is a time for giving, not getting.

Panel 3: Michael says he understands this but since he wants people to GIVE him this, that and the other thing, it's not hard to see why Elly is rolling her eyes.

Summary: I'm so happy that Elly is reacting appropriately (instead of being all gobsmacked and stuff) that I don't really care that this is a rather stereotypical outing that Lynn stole from a sitcom at third hand.
