(Strip Number 744, Original Publication Date, 10 November 1984)
Panel 1: Back at home, John whines about having trouble hiring a new assistant. So far, he's received seven applications and can't possibly decide who to hire.
Panel 2: Having taken over the decision-making process, Elly rejects one applicant for sending in a letter riddled with spelling and punctuation errors and a second for being written in pencil
Panel 3: She then sets up the 'joke' by disqualifying a third woman because her letter is on perfumed paper and includes body measurements.
Panel 4: Slobbering ape John grabs for the letter and tells Elly "Lemme see that!!!"
Summary: Heh. It ain't just his patients Rod had to convince that he ain't as incompetent and uncaring as John. He also had to try to convince his staff that he wasn't a repellent slob who saw them as his harem.
