(Strip Number 729, Original Publication Date, 20 October 1984)
Panel 1: Upon being told of the plan for her to host a Halloween party for him and his friends, Elly reminds Michael that him plus 6 friends is a lot. She asks if someone else's mother could host it for once.
Panel 2: He sees that as being an impossibility.
Panel 3: Even though Evil, CHAOS-LOVING, Mother-Hating Mike can see that the mother he's too selfish and cruel and cold-hearted to show the least bit of kindness or gratitude to is slaving away on his behalf, he tells her that the other mothers are far too busy. The implication, of course, is that she does nothing all day long.
Summary: Lynn would have us believe that Mike is too cruel and heartless and ungrateful and chauvinistic to admit that what Mommy does is REAL work. What she loses sight of is the fact that he's so used to her racing around doing busywork that doesn't get results, he's become desensitized to it.
