Panel 1: We start things off with Lizzie dancing with joy.
Panel 2: The reason for this is that, as she says, she gets to go shopping.
Panel 3: Since Lizzie equates being forced to stay home with being punished, it delights her that Ugly Brother isn't coming with and she reminds him of that.
Panel 4: She reiterates the fact that while she gets to go shoppin'wif Mom, stinky old Michael hasta stay ho-OME!!
Panel 5: Since it galls him that he's the one absorbing the shit he dishes out no problem to everyone else, Mike icily informs Lizzie that for her big, fat information, he doesn't want to go shopping.
Panel 6: His telling her that he's old enough to stay home by himself starts to murder the holy living shit out of Lizzie's good mood.
Panel 7: He then makes a snotty comment about being able to watch television and make his own lunch that hammers the final nail in the coffin.
Panel 8: Elly is just about to head out when she's astonished and mortified by the fact that Lizzie is crying piteously about the fact that while Mike gets to stay home, she's forced to endure the horror of shopping. This is not because her son is a jackass, mind. It's because she's been inconvenienced by a wailing lump crying about something irrelevant again.
Summary: While a jerkwad older brother deliberately making his kid sister miserable for the sake of being a festering wad of shite is a sad fact of life, the idea that Elly is the one who's the REAL victim says a lot about why Mike is a repulsive dickchoad. He wouldn't be a nasty little prick if he'd been raised right.
