(Strip Number 709, Original Publication Date, 19 September 1984)
Panel 1: A few minutes after the whole 'Let's set poor Deanna up to be Mike's grinning slave' crack, Elly pours her heart out to her oaf husband that she simply wasn't cut out to be a housewife because she freaking hates having to race around picking up after other people more than anything else she's ever had to do.
Panel 2: She then angrily asks why is it always up to her to keep the place shoveled out?!
Panel 3: Since Unreflective numb-nuts John thinks that women are designed to happily race around picking up after vermin such as himself, his response is to pat her on the head like the child he'll die thinking she is and tell her "SOMEBODY has to do it!!" The (temporary) realization that she married a man who thinks of her as a spoiled infant shocks the Hell out of her.
Summary: You think he's a poltroon now? Wait until you see his ultra-courageous response to finally figuring out that it isn't scary, crazy, bafflin'woman hormones that make Elly sick of housework. Rather than face up to being an oppressive ape, he forts himself up in his freaking workshop to avoid seeing the misery his being a brainless, heartless, gutless, dickless piece of shite created.
