In today's strip, Mike tells Gordon that his teacher is of the mean-person-who-turns-out-to-be-nice variety instead of the nice-person-who's-actually-mean sort.

(Strip Number 702, Original Publication Date, 10 September 1984)

Panel 1: As they walk home from the bus stop, Gordon asks Mike what his new teacher is like.

Panel 2: Mike can't say for sure because it's kind of hard to tell on the first day.

Panel 3: He goes on to say that while some start out mean and become nice, others start nice and become mean.

Panel 4: He then tells Gordo that he thinks this one might be the first kind.

Summary: So, we're looking at another Mrs Hardacre then. Good to know. Funny thing though. At that age, I knew in advance who the nice people and who the people who ate kids for breakfast were. Then again, I didn't just move into a new town so my mother could go shopping and not have to talk to people.
