(Strip Number 696, Original Publication Date, 3 September 1984)
Panel 1: We start things off with Mike doing one of the few things that gives him pleasure: smugly trying to yank Lizzie's stuffed bunny away from her so he can hear her yell for Mommy in anguish.
Panel 2: Elly asks him why he is teasing his sister.
Panel 3: Michael doesn't honestly know why.
Panel 4: He then tells a defeated-looking Elly that he doesn't think there is anything else to do.
Summary: This, I think, is the downside of telling a child to entertain him- or herself; while Lynn might simper about how only a good dust-up can relieve childhood boredom, my inner doubter would tend to think that perhaps children need to be paid heed to, deadlines be damned.
