Today's "punchline" is only funny if you share Lynn's ignorance of how children actually think and utter lack of concern with how dangerous she's made things look. While we're supposed to smack our heads in frustration because Lizzie has no idea that she's lost, most of us are worried about Lizzie because she has no idea that she's lost.

(Strip Number 678, Original Publication Date, 13 August 1984)

Panel 1: We find Lizzie sitting in the photo booth overhearing the PA announcer say "Anyone seeing a little girl, age four wearing a yellow T-shirt."

Panel 2: Her finding out that the lost little girl last seen on the arrivals floor is named "Elizabeth Patterson" surprises the Hell outta Lizzie.

Panel 3: Nizzie tell Mister Bunny that someone gotsa same name as her.

Summary: This, I think, would be another occasion in which Lynn would exhort us to get over ourselves and laugh at the humor of the situation. Reason: Lynn is too focused on how funny it is that Lizzie doesn't know that she's lost to realize how freaking terrifying it is that Lizzie doesn't realize that she's lost.
