Today's slice of life strip (and totally not something Lynn lifted from the Flintstones) features FredJim's belief that WilmaMarian is his maid run head-long into reality; since she's firmer than Elly (if not appreciably smarter), her decree will stick.

(Strip Number 669, Original Publication Date, 31 July 1984)

Panel 1: We start things off watching Grandpa Jim and Michael return from fishing with their catch. Jim can't wait to see them fried in butter and ready to eat.

Panel 2: Michael asks what Grandma will say when she sees them.

Panel 3: What a pissed-off Grandma Marian says is if they caught them, they can clean them.

Panel 4: Since cleaning fish is women's work, Chinnuts says "On second thought... they'd be good for the garden."

Summary: If there are notes attached to this one, they'd be about how overly fastidious Marian was instead of something more accurate. Said more accurate notes would talk about how we could expect the baby elephant vacuum cleaner to tell us "It's a living."
