(Strip Number 668, Original Publication Date, 30 July 1984)
Panel 1: As he and Jim continue on with their fishing trip, Mike asks his grandfather if he took Mom an'Uncle Phil fishin'with him.
Panel 2: Jim says that while he did indeed do so, he didn't take them fishing as often as he would have liked to because back then, he didn't have much time or much money.
Panel 3: Now that he has a boat and time to spare, his children are grown and gone.
Panel 4: Michael's comment about how life sometimes works backwards hits home with the old boy.
Summary: I can relate to this one better than I can to most of the strips in this arc. I too think that life sometimes is all bass-ackwards.
