In today's strip, Mike is on the fence about taking Super Teddy with him and decides to do so on the grounds that the bear might just miss him.

(Strip Number 651, Original Publication Date, 10 June 1984)

Panel 1: It would seem that John is in the driveway ready to take Mike to Pearson International; that's because Elly is downstairs asking Mike if he's got everything he needs in his suitcase.

Panel 2: As Elly tells him that they're about ready to go, Michael is still packing his suitcase for his trip.

Panel 3: He finally decides to leave his Teddy behind because he's too old for him.

Panel 4: At the last minute, he decides to take him anyway because Teddy might miss him if he's left home alone.

Summary: Given what Friday's notes were like, it's entirely possible that we're going to see another example of Lynn marveling at and drawing the wrong conclusions from something mundane and predictable like this.
