In today's strip, Phil tells Mike that he used to have a security blanket before he went to scout camp and got harassed into giving it up. This would be rather unremarkable were it not for the fact that Phil just did more parenting in these four panels than John and Elly do in the whole strip.

Panel 1: Phil tells Mike that he knows Super Teddy is important to him. He himself used to have one. Heck, he even had a security blanket.

Panel 2: Then one day something came into his life that made him give them up.

Panel 3: Michael guesses that the 'thing' that came into Phil's life was girls

Panel 4: Phil tells him "Nope!! Scout camp!!" and leaves him to ponder being eaten alive by older boys.

Summary: While Lynn might not have any thoughts about this one, I'm here to tell you that I sure do. What I want to say is that I like that Phil actually told Mike something useful; John and Elly NEVER do that!!
